Dunvegan Castle, Isle of Skye

Enjoy our 20 minute walk around Dunvegan Castle, Seat of the Clan MacLeod. The first two minutes are outside the castle, the remainder takes you through all the public rooms within the castle. It’s a magnificent place!

Dunvegan Castle is one the greatest Hebridean castles and the only Highland fortress to have been continuously occupied by the same family for 800 years.

We spent a fantastic day there. You need, at the very least, half a day to do it justice. We went through the interior of the castle twice, then explored their extensive and magnificent gardens. A full day could have been enjoyed there quite easily. The castle shop is great too.

You may notice the painting of Duncan Forbes, Lord President, from Culloden House at exactly 12 minutes into the video. We own items which belonged to him and his son, John.
