LOGAN COUNTY, Kentucky - Severe storms sweep through the viewing area in the Midstate, sparking at least one funnel cloud and one confirmed tornado. We have LIVE Team Coverage tonight of the weather situation. Skywatch Meteorologist Barak Shapiro is keeping track of what's going on right now. Logan County, Kentucky is the hardest hit area tonight. Lee Robey, who owns a farm, says he's lucky to be alive. Robey Farms is a large operation: barns, animals, equipment and land, much of it destroyed in minutes. Owner Lee Robey says he saw the tornado coming. Robey quickly gathered his mother and 2 secretaries. The 4 took cover in a bathroom inside the home as the storm passed overhead. Although the damage is widespread and severe, no one was seriously hurt. About 25 employees of the farm also took cover inside an oil change pit. Once the storm passed, many of them found their vehicles flipped and turned by the powerful winds. Friends, employees and volunteers immediately got to work. Some unwrapped metal twisted around poles. Others emptied belongings from the homes on the property. Local emergency managers are beginning to evaluate the damage there and in other parts of the county. Lee Robey says the storm came unexpectedly. Some might feel discouraged after a storm, but people there feel blessed that everyone is okay. The storm did produce some scary moments. A large gas line ruptured as the storm passed. It had to be repaired before emergency crews could move in. There has already been a lot of progress made there this afternoon. Lee Robey says his buildings and equipment can all be replaced.
