Why I'm Not Taking My Valuables for a Swim (a local’s take on HPD's beach advice)

The Honolulu Police Department recently gave advice to the public on how they can keep their valuables safe at the beach. Their suggestion was for people to swim with their valuables in a waterproof bag. Well, HPD received a lot of criticism for this advice and I wanted to talk about what they suggested and offer a local's perspective on keeping your stuff safe. We go to the beach in Honolulu regularly and always make sure to watch our stuff. However, I wish there were beach lockers that we could rent out. It would make things so much easier.
