Budget Upgrade - Installing an 'Older Spec' Garmin EchoMap UHD 92SV - In 2024!

S05E85 - Do we buy #raymarine or do we buy #garminmarine . The choice was very difficult - in fact it got more difficult after we purchased the Garmin as Raymarine made the largest cost reductions that I have ever seen - including more that 25% reduction on Axiom units (33% on Element).

However, we settled on the Garmin UHD 92SV - this is the model without internal mapping (Which was initially BlueChart G3). Instead it included the @Navionics+ UK and Holland Large Chart - in itself a product which is currently discounted down to £225.

Now this device has been on the market for some time and is more aimed at sport fishermen, however, the mapping and charting functions are extremely good, and the #ActiveCaptain app alot easier to download, plan and transfer - and is similar to the 'HomePort' planning software that I have used for so long.

So here it is, the Garmin EchoMap UHD 92SV in 2024. Purchased from www.visionmarine.co.uk.
