See the development of global contamination and clearance of landmines throughout the last 20 years.

Especially in Asian and African countries a lot of landmines got deployed since 1999 during conventional and civil wars. The reduction in numbers mainly since 2004 was driven by clearance of contaminated areas especially in Cambodia and Egypt.
