Lionel Scale model and a Lionel semi-scale model visual size comparison.. The Nickel Plate Berkshire is a Lionel legacy scale model and the Polar Express Berkshire is a semi-scale Lionel LionChief. Both are great engines, Just do look a little different in size when together. But i must say Jack is now six and has been beating on that Polar Express engine since he got it when he was 3 1/2 years old and it has held up fantastic.
