Home made rocket stove, vermiculite and cement Part 5

I made some rocket stoves and this shows the first one I made from 20% standard cement and 80% vermiculite. Both materials are available at your local home improvement store. Just mix them up with some water until the consistency is damp enough to form a ball in your hand but not sopping wet. It won't look like wet cement but that is normal. These wood burning cook stoves are extremely wood efficient and in an emergency you could easily gather enough wood to cook and boil water from your own neighborhood. Give it try. Please note that the stove I burned with is the only stove that I used standard cement in, the rest of the stoves I used fiber reinforced cement which is also found at Home Depot for about $5.00. I won't know if it is any better than the standard stuff til later but why not try it and see?
