Feder Blade by Castille Armory

Описание к видео Feder Blade by Castille Armory

A feder style blade by Castille Armory that I added a cross guard, handle, and pommel.
The term “Feder” or “Federschwert” (feather sword) today refers to the particularly shaped longswords with narrow blades, rebated edges, and a flared “schilt” near the cross. Several antique feder exist today and can be found in various locations around the world.

I have been studying Joachim Meyer (ca. 1537–1571)
In 1570, Joachim Meyer wrote a comprehensive, multi-weapon treatise entitled Gründtliche Beschreibung der Kunst des Fechtens or, in English, Thorough Descriptions of the Art of Fencing. It is seen as one of the most complete systems within medieval German martial arts. Meyer's book was reprinted in 1600, and may have been an influential source for other 16th- and 17th-century German fencing books.
