Nordhavn 40 "Coracle" - Our First Year

This mix of slideshow and video was made for family, friends, and members of the YBW motorboat forum. I put it on Youtube to make it easy for those people to see it. I thought I might get a couple of hundred views. It seems I was wrong about that!

Our first boat was a 29ft yacht which we bought in 2014 when we retired. In 2015 we sold it and bought a motorboat - a Nordhavn 40 (N40 #52). These photos and videos show scenes from our first year as novice skipper and crew. The quality isn't great - most of it was taken with my mobile phone.

We don't have a home berth. During the summer we move from place to place, aiming to end up in good shelter for the winter. We call this Continuous Cruising.

Many people sell their houses and live on their boat. We decided not to do this. When we are cruising we spend about half our time afloat, returning home by train to look after the house and cuddle the cat.

We know that we are astonishingly lucky to be able to do this.
