A strong magnitude 6.1 earthquake just struck southeast of Balikesir in Turkey, causing damage and being felt by more than 15 million people. This marked the largest earthquake known to have ever struck a lesser known regional fault line. Today's video will discuss this earthquake and why damage in some areas was seemingly more severe than a larger earthquake in April through the perspective of a geologist.
