University of Wisconsin-Madison PhD student Stefania Cartoni takes Savanna Institute staff member Jacob Grace on a tour of her silvopasture establishment study in progress at the USDA Dairy Forage Research Center's Prairie du Sac research station. The study will compare the efficacy of different combinations of initial treatments (goat browsing and forestry mowing) followed by two years of follow up management (herbicide application or goat browsing) for removing understory shrubs for silvopasture establishment.
