"Some presidents have asked for the following: that Colombia apologise for it's incursion (into Ecuador), whenever you consider it's the proper time, we are willing to do so."

"I ask, please, that out of respect for the Ecuadorian people, and I have already asked for this: that your insolence is doing more damage on the dignity of the Ecuadorian people than your murderous bombs. Stop with these lies, stop trying to justify the unjustifiable. Acknowledge that you had no right to attack the Ecuadorian people, you have been lying with what you have said. Promise not to hurt again a brother country, get rid of all this lie about the FARC, which you Mr Uribe don't even believe in."

Colombia, last week, conducted a military raid, into Ecuadorean territory, on the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) guerillas, triggering the crisis in the region.
