Apoorva has always found it fascinating that the expectations of those around us can lead to the endless biases we see today and, is looking forward to sharing her thoughts on expectations, confirmation biases and their effect on our perception of identity.

Apoorva Polisetty is a 12th grader at Oakridge International School, studying English, Biology and Psychology at a higher level. Apart from all things Harry Potter (and a fair bit of Tolkein), some of her hobbies include playing the piano, painting and baking. She also spends a huge part of her year participating in Model United Nations conferences and loves good debates, especially those that tackle the ever-ambiguous case of self-identity in today’s dynamic society.

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
