So if any of you haven't watched The New Legends of Monkey, please do! It's delightfully fun with some campiness to it. The feel is sort of a mix between atla and merlin, like fantasy but it's not grim/dark. Sandy is my fav, my baby, my sewer witch wife. Born a god in a world where the gods have been wiped out/exiled and all she can do to survive is hide. I love her so much. She's so awkward and bad at people, but she cares about the group so much and I ship her with Tripitaka like a lot. When Tripitaka is cured of being poisoned and Sandy goes in for a hug before going ABORTABORTABORT and does an awkward shoulder hug instead? I LIVE!!!

Anyways Sandy's story is sad. Awakening her godhood, but her family is afraid she is a demon and abandons her to grow up and survive on her own, hiding in sewers in the dark because that's where she feels safest. Alone, until Tripitaka is like, come along buddy, my pal we're on a quest. FOUND FAMILY TROPE, MY ONE WEAKNESS!
