Tu(n) kem chaalyo thaale haathe ji.. ..13

Eji Saga kutumb jivna mali kari betha
Koi na chaale jivne saathe ji.. ..14

Eji Saga kutumb jivne volaavine valiya
Paap ne poon doy saathe ji.. ..15

Eji Sheth kahe tame saambhlo feerasta
Jivda-na khaata kaadho ji.. ..16

Tyaa(n) jivdo ghaño dhruje ji.. ..17

Eji Paane paane jivna paap lakhaaña
Maa(n)he dharamnu(n) akshar na suje ji.. ..18

Said the proprietor to the agent: listen now, go. Go and make handsome deals.

Be smart, be wise, let us see you back having made ample gains.. ..2

Earn your way at the Pir’s behest, taking to heart Nabi Muhammad. Go, go wisely. Let’s see you back having made handsome gains.. ..3

Many a day you spent in that dark, dark, darkest realm. Every now and then you were saved from hazards small and great.. ..4

Unknowing you were fed with needed fare. Parentless, you were looked after.. ..5

For nine months long borne in the womb, at long last, you were unbound by Nabi Muhammad’s grace.. ..6

Giving your word you went forth into the world. Seeing its alluring ways you lost your sense.. ..7

What a thriving store you had set up there! How you appointed yourself to the proprietor’s very place! ..8

False was your balance, all too false, with that hook in the rod, falsely weighted were your scales.. .. 9

And how you gorged yourself! Milk and meal, butter, sugar and nectar! And on top of it all, swills of refreshing drink.. ..10

How you spread on those couches, cushions and pillows of the finest weave! How, lying on them, you had yourself fanned with the softest breeze! ..11

Then came the summons from the proprietor. Let’s go, agent, let’s go with the utmost speed.. ..12

In what a haste you left! Lock and key left in the store, empty-handed you made your way.. ..13

Kith and kin, arrived and assembled. Bidding the creature farewell, with him, no one joins.. ..14

Kith and kin, turn their backs, sending him on the way with his vice and virtue’s share.. ..15

Says the proprietor to the angel: listen now, go. Go and fetch this creature’s book of deeds.. ..16

There they sit; proprietor and agent, tallying the books. How the wretched soul shivers in terror’s grip.. ..17

Page after page, the creature’s sins are etched in bold. Of virtue, there’s not to be seen the tiniest trace.. ..18

Says Pir Sadardin: Lord, we fed ourselves off you – only with your mercy now can the soul go free.. ..19
