Overview Dr. Shalini Sharma Agnihotri is an internationally acclaimed Indian classical dancer, choreographer, and educator, specializing in Odissi and Bharatanatyam. With a career spanning over two decades, she is celebrated for her mastery of technique, emotive abhinaya (expression), and ability to weave storytelling into powerful stage productions. She is the Founder and Artistic Director of Nritya Kala Academy, established in 1997, which has since become a leading institute for training and propagating Indian classical dance in India and the UAE.
Early Training & Education Began dance training at a young age under eminent Gurus in Mumbai, earning proficiency in both Odissi and Bharatanatyam. Mentored in the Odissi style under disciples of Padma Vibhushan Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra, inheriting his deeply traditional yet innovative approach. Holds doctorate-level recognition for her contribution to Indian classical dance and education.
Nritya Kala Academy (NKA) Founded in 1997, NKA is a cultural institution dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Odissi and Bharatanatyam. The academy has trained hundreds of students, producing performers who have excelled at stage performances, competitions, and university-level certifications (including ABGMV examinations).
