Fender originally created the Lead Series in 1979, as a response to high-quality, low-priced import guitars. Its solid-body design, hardtail bridge, and eye-catching finish appealed to a wide variety of players. Now, Fender is reissuing the Lead III. It features a set of Player Series Alnico 2 Humbucking pickups which have a decidedly hot tone, plus options for coil-splitting via dual toggle switches. And with a modern "C" shaped neck, medium jumbo frets, and a 22-fret, 9.5 radius fingerboard, it's easy to play.
