Crate VTX350H vs. SNK VHD pedal - battle of the VH140C clones!

Quick video showing the Crate VTX350H vs the SNK VHC pedal. Both are clones of the Ampeg VH140C, though the Crate's treble adjustment is tied to 7KHz instead of 3.5KHz like the VHD pedal and the real VH140C. Guitar is a Jackson Rhoads RR5 with JB in the bridge. Mic is a Sennheiser E609 on a Celestion G12T-75 in the exact same position for all clips. For the VHD pedal, I ran it straight into the power amp in of the VTX350H to make the comparison as fair as I could.

Tonally, they are very very close. The Crate has just a little more top end sizzle and the VHD has a bit more mid grind, most likely due to the difference in treble pot frequency between them. Nonetheless, either will have you cranking out 90s death metal all day long!
