My mindfulness practice - to quiet the mind - enables me - at most times - when I pay attention - to become aware of which side of the brain I may be at a given moment.
It is amazing to realize the pull and the power of the conditioned 'left hemisphere' - even when I do things that are relaxing and fun...the 'left brain' beckons me back with negative thoughts or fears - that may just be phantoms - but that is the power of the conditioning - that life is scary and the world is a dangerous place and the 'left brain' is the place to be to deal with that.
It is with mindful awareness (breathe and say observe) and with will power - that I can quiet those fears and transcend the 'left brain' to become 'whole brained' - so I can let the 'right hemisphere' manage that process with awareness and attention - to relax and enjoy what I am doing.

Only when I pay attention to this - I realize how difficult it is to stay 'whole brained'
It takes an intentional awareness and pay attention to put things in perspective at the heat of the moment and with effort and practice - I am able to get away from the clutches of the 'left brain' - to become 'whole brained' to enjoy a nice swim in this beautiful body of water in North Central Province of Sri Lanka on a rainy warm morning as the clouds waterfall over the mountains.....
