Inauguration of New BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Cranbourne, Melbourne, Australia

A mandir is a sacred and central place of worship in Hinduism. It facilitates various devotional rituals and prayers.

In 2015, His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj blessed the possession of land in Cranbourne in Melbourne South on which a new BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir has been built. Swamishri had previously performed the Vedic murti-pratishtha rituals of the murtis on 21 September 2021 in Sarangpur, India.

The 3 day mandir inaugural festivities began on 15 April 2022, with a kirtan aradhana. On 16 April, a traditional nagar yatra (procession) flowed through the streets of Cranbourne, highlighting the value of mandirs in our society. On the final day, 17 April, resident Sadhus performed the auspicious Vedic installation ceremony and inauguration rituals of the new mandir, during which devotees participated in the mahapuja followed by Satsang assembly.
