Archaeologists have uncovered evidence that humans were in North America around 23,000 years ago far earlier than once believed.

At Ancient Lake Otero (White Sands, New Mexico), preserved human footprints dated using radiocarbon analysis of ancient seeds reveal adults and children moving across the landscape during the last Ice Age. These weren’t just explorers passing through these were people living, traveling, and raising families.

This discovery challenges the long held Clovis first theory and confirms a much deeper human presence in the Americas.
