Bran Castle is a very popular attraction for those staying in Brasov while travelling in Romania. Famous for it's association with Count Dracula from the Gothic novel by Bram Stoker. Despite other castles in Romania having stronger connections with the man who the character was named after; Vlad the Impaler, this is the one that has gained most attention. A small but pretty castle, it's easy to get to and has an interesting history. We recommend coming off peak, as it does get very crowded.

When done in Bran, we hopped on a bus to visit Rasnov Citadel, not too far away. Located in a beautiful location with views of fields and mountains, it's a much quieter attraction than Bran with an interesting history of it's own.
