This episode focuses on some of the challenges and opportunities that artists encounter while practicing Indian music in Northwest Arkansas.

Vidya Ramachandhiramani is an engineer and Carnatic singer from the south of India. She began learning music at a very young age, undergoing her early training in Carnatic music with Smt. Sankari, B. A. She took her advanced training in Carnatic music with Kanchi Kamakoti Asthana Vidwan, Acharya Choodamani, and Sri. A. Sundaresan, an A-grade artist with All India Radio. She has also had the privilege to learn from Shri Paramakudi S Ravindran, who is a disciple of eminent artists Madurai Somu, Shri TN Seshagopalan, and A Sundaresan.

With the blessings of her gurus, Vidya has been performing and teaching Carnatic music since 2013, in Chennai, India (the epicenter of contemporary Carnatic music and dance) and in the USA. She has performed at dozens of events, including the Format Festival for the Ra-Ve Cultural Foundation.
