What started as a winter adventure in the Italian Alps ❄️ slowly turned into one of our most challenging moments on the road so far.

With a broken heating system 🔧, illness in the van 🤒, freezing temperatures 🥶, and most repair shops closed for the holidays 🚪, we were running out of options. And just when it felt like all hope was gone… one unexpected encounter changed everything ✨ — the true hero we needed in that moment.

Once that was done and dusted, it was time to close a chapter 📖… and begin a new one 🚐💨

This part of our journey takes us through northern Italy 🇮🇹 — from the cold of Bergamo to the milder Ligurian coast.

We’re a Maltese–German family of four living full-time in a motorhome, slowly travelling across Europe 🌍 and sharing the highs and lows of life on the road.
