Macau is an Autonomous region on the south coast of china,across the Pearl River Delta from Hongkong.A Potuguese territory until 1999,it reflects a mix of cultural influences.Its giant casino and malls on the Cotai Strip which join the island of Taipa and Coloane have earned it the of "LAS VEGAS of ASIA.One of its more striking landmarks is the tall Macau Tower with sweeping city views.Macau is part of china the story is a little more complicated and nuanced,Hongkong across the water,macau has its own money,passports and legal sysmtem that are completely separate from China.The city even has its own snazzy flag.Macau currency is the pataca, if you are from hongkong you can use you can use hongkong dollars there.
How to get there from Hongkong by Ferry or by Bus. Ferry takes 1 hours by bus takes 40 minutes Just take the Bus from Tung Chung to take to the Bus Terminal of Hongkong Zhuhai Macau Bridge.
Fare for ferry is 171 HKD or weekend 186 night sailing 211. By Bus around HKD 80 to HKD 100.
