A proper shitbox is a car that despite its appearance has some redeemable quality. It usually has a lot of personalization that is functional and not just for show. Too much effort in the wrong direction and you have a ricer. Too many expensive parts you are just pissing away money. Just the right amount and you have a proper shitbox. This cars claim to fame is its ability to avoid theft, attract sympathy, and blow your ear drums out in the least attractive way possible.
