Nissan Frontier (2005) Ignition Switch Replacement/Refurbishment

How do I change an ignition switch on a Nissan Frontier? The truck is having starting issues. Intermittently truck does not start on the first turn of the key, but always on the second.

Suspected issue is a faulty ignition switch.

This job started out as a simple replacement but due to … well, you’ll see, it became a refurbishment of the old switch that fixed the problem. I should’ve just started with that.

So, if you’re having intermittent start issues with a late model Nissan Frontier or Pathfinder you may be able to fix it with a simple refurbishment - fancy way to say internal cleaning - of your old switch. Or you might ruin it. Who knows really?
