In this video clip from a California State Assembly Budget Committee hearing, victims of judge misconduct from throughout California testify against the state Commission on Judicial Performance and CJP Director Victoria B. Henley.

The hearing was held to address a funding request made by Henley and the CJP. Several days before the hearing, Court Reform LLC - a court modernization and reform organization - released a scathing, 78-page report, Why a Spotlight must be put on the Commission on Judicial Performance.

The report identified irregularities in how the CJP reported judge discipline statistics, and faulted the CJP for excessive secrecy. The report can be read and downloaded at the link: http://www.courtreformllc.com/commiss....

As a result of the report, the testimony of judge misconduct victims, and the testimony of other court reform advocates, Assemblymember Nora Campos delayed approval of the CJP funding request pending further proceedings and a response from the CJP.
