The new mid-range smartphone from Sony, the Xperia 10 V, is based on the same Snapdragon 695 chipset as its predecessor. The 60 Hz OLED display from the Xperia 10 V's predecessor is still present, along with a new 48-megapixel primary camera.

The Xperia 10 V, a subdued upgrade to the Xperia 10 IV, has been unveiled by Sony. While the Xperia 1 V has a host of new features compared to the Xperia 1 IV, the Xperia 10 V keeps the Snapdragon 695 chipset, 6 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of expandable storage from its predecessor. Sony continues to give the Xperia 10 a 5,000 mAh battery in addition to 8 MP front-facing, telephoto, and ultra-wide-angle cameras.

Additionally, the 6.1-inch OLED display from the Xperia 10 V appears to be a carryover from its predecessor. This display outputs at 1080p, 60 Hz, and has 100% DCI-P3 colour coverage. Sony, however, asserts that the display is now 50% brighter, which seems to be the only difference between the Xperia 10 IV and Xperia 10 V's displays.

The new 48 MP primary camera sensor, which has an f/1.8 aperture, 0.8 m pixels, and a 1/2.0-inch optical format, is arguably the only significant upgrade from the Xperia 10 IV. The camera is the only one on the device that Sony has optically stabilised and provides a 26 mm equivalent focal length. Midway through June, Sony will start selling the Xperia 10 V for €449 MSRP.
