JC – The Documentary is a documentary series created to understand the real world realities of judicial custody, law, and crime that our society is dealing with today. Before the release of the film JC: The University, we wanted to take the audience closer to the truth behind this world beyond glamour, assumptions, or cinematic exaggeration. This documentary explores how crime begins, how impulsive decisions escalate, how the legal and police systems function, what judicial custody truly means, and how deeply these systems affect individuals, families, and society. Through real stories of people who have lived inside this system, fought cases, enforced the law, or gone through its consequences, JC – The Documentary sets the context for the film by showing the reality of the world it is rooted in.

In this episode, we feature a conversation with Narayan Swamy, one of Karnataka’s renowned advocates, who has represented a wide range of cases and worked closely within the judicial system for several years. Through this discussion, he shares his perspective on the current crime scenario, the kind of cases youth are increasingly getting involved in, how the judicial custody and bail system actually work, and how the law functions beyond what the general public usually sees. His insights reflect the realities of the legal system today and offer a grounded understanding of crime, justice, and consequence.

This documentary is part of our larger attempt to help audiences understand the world of JC: The University before experiencing it as a film, to see the reality first, and then step into the cinema with a deeper awareness of what this world truly represents.
