South Korea’s military is contemplating a ban on iPhones within military buildings due to mounting concerns about potential leaks of sensitive information through voice recordings. At the centre of this, is a military app that restricts the functions of a phone like camera and voice recordings. Apple's strict privacy controls prevent the app from restricting the iPhone's functions which has raised questions of a ban. Interestingly, while iPhones could be explicitly banned, Android-based devices manufactured by Samsung, are exempt from the ban.
