Abstract:
Nowadays Agile technology has become the main success factor of IT companies. Web applications are constantly changing and competing on introducing new features every day. Clearly in an always changing software business application security has become a challenging job. Application security engineers are expected to keep up with all the emerging new features and software, assess the security risks and review the projects daily to protect the software and more importantly their customers from being hacked.

In this talk we want to explore how as Application security engineers we can define a scalable security review process to be able to keep up with the load and help the development teams build more secure software.

Biography:
Sareh Emami is currently a product security manager in Atlassian leading a team of enthusiastic application security engineers to secure Atlassian products. Sareh’s previous career in industry (as an application security engineer) and in academia (as a PhD of computing) has taught her invaluable lessons on how combining research with technology can enhance technical skills to build magnificent engineers.

Sareh is an advocate of shift left security and strongly believes building secure software is not possible without having security minded developers.
