Sometimes, a piece really just happens. I am supposed to be fixing the plot of my Master’s project, but I don’t feel like starting the day writing, so I sit down by the piano (scooch over to the piano. Small office) and the notes start falling like raindrops. My first concert piece in a while, and maybe that’s been long overdue anyway. Partly inspired by Hovhaness’s ‘Visionary Landscapes’.

(And no, I didn’t get any writing done that day. Don’t tell my supervisor)
