Former RG Kar principal Sandip Ghosh made illegal appointments and siphoned funds: CBI in court

The CBI has accused former RG Kar Medical College principal, Dr. Sandip Ghosh, of siphoning funds and making 84 illegal appointments between 2022 and 2023. The agency presented its findings to a special court in Alipore, alleging that Dr. Ghosh bypassed established procedures to appoint candidates of his choice and engaged in financial irregularities involving tender management. The CBI has arrested Dr. Ghosh and three others, with charges including conspiracy and corruption. The investigation into these financial irregularities and the rape and murder of a doctor at the medical college is ongoing.
