Today I took my bicycle and rode it down to the tempel Pha That Luang in Vientiane. The old and golden Stupa was very beautiful, I didn't go into the temple though which was not a bad choice because you could not go into the stupa anyways - everything I needed to see I saw from the outside, and I actually peaked in.... Plus it has a foreigner price, something I do not support.
