Talyllyn Railway - Awdry Extravaganza 2022

After the success of the event in 2021, 2022 saw the Talyllyn Railway hosting its second Awdry Extravaganza event. The event sees the railway celebrate the life and work of the Rev W. Awdry and The Railway Series, with locos taking on the names of their Skarloey Railway equivalents for the weekend.

As part of the event there was also a special exhibition showing original artwork, models, and drawings from the Awdry archives as well as Mattel. Two special trains ran in the form of 'The Picnic' hauled by 'Stuart' on Saturday, and The Skarloey Photo Charter on Sunday with 'Peter Sam'. There was also a follow up to 2021's Awdry Lecture, with Tim Dunn once again providing the voice for another of Awdry's lectures that hasn't been heard in many years.
