Ridder Rides High in Falcons Debut | Kurt Warner Breaks Down the Rookie's Game Tape

I thought Desmond Ridder had the best performance for the rookie QBs in this first week of preseason games. He was aware of what he was doing, had a plan on every single play. Where his eyes should be. He was very definitive with his decisions and where he was going with his eyes. That to me, is football 101.

After week one of the preseason, in this episode I want to take a look at Desmond Ridder, who I thought was the best rookie of the bunch across the board with the things that he did. Then I am going to take a look at Malik Willis who had a bunch of splash plays and we saw the athleticism that got him drafted when he was in Tennessee.
I thought Desmond Ridder had the best rookie performance for the quarterbacks in this first preseason game. He was aware of what he was doing, had a plan on every single play. Where his eyes should be. He was very definitive with his decisions and where he was going with his eyes. That to me, is football 101. Be aware of what the play is calling you to do and where to get my eyes on any given situation. I thought for the most part, he did a great job with that when he was a little bit off. Sometimes the game can go fast as you are continuing to learn, but he was definitive and made plays athletically. Something that he brought from college that we know he could do. Made a couple big chunk runs and obviously the last touchdown. Making a move, getting out of the pocket and laying a nice ball to his receiver. Really though Desmond Ridder did a nice job overall. If he is playing that way everyday in practice, I believe there is a chance Marcus Marion’s at some point, depending on how the season plays out. That was some really good quarterback play for his first time out. #desmondridder #nfl #kurtwarner
