In this video I explain how to not swing when doing pull ups, leg raises and any other hanging exercises on a bar. The secret lies in a method called Total Body Tension (TBT) when you are contracting muscles throughout the whole kinetic chain.

Basically, you want muscles in your scapular region, core and lower body to all be tensed during the movement. You accomplish this by hanging from the bar (scapular), neutralizing the pelvis (core) and pointing the toes (lower body). I explain that you should first practice these cues standing in front of a mirror until you get the hang of them and then practicing them on a bar.

You'll notice when you engage the cues to activate TBT that your body will stop swinging. And if you HOLD the muscle contractions and keep your body tight, you won't sway at all while on the bar.

Good luck! Let me know down below what else you want to see :)
