The Youth Audit of the August 2022 General Elections | People's Dialogue Festival 2024

This session is an autopsy of the General elections. It was be a deep dive of the electoral environment, legal frameworks, key institutions for youth political participation in elections, youth issues in elections and recommendations.

This report is directed towards specific stakeholders in youth development, including government, civil society, United Nation agencies, international community and young people themselves.

The report had the following objectives;
1. To enhance the nature of political systems, democratic values and the importance of youth participation in the political process in Kenya.

2. To understand future opportunities and gaps for youth to engage directly/indirectly with political leaders and decision makers for better democratic values.

3. To monitor youth representation and participation trends in the different political parties

4. Provide recommendations towards improved youth political participation in the next elections.

The Youth Audit of the August 2022 General Elections focuses on creating a youth-friendly electoral process.
