The 35th Convocation at IGNOU RC Bhopal was conducted successfully on 26/04/2022, along with the convocation functions at other Regional Centres and IGNOU headquarters.
Dr. Bini Toms, Regional Director presented the report on the initiatives and activities of IGNOU Regional Centre, Bhopal. She emphasized that during the lock down period also the RC provided regular student support and arranged online counselling sessions. She mentioned about the RC-REC webinar series regularly organized, wherein there were elaborate discussions on how to promote student support services in a virtual university framework. She mentioned about the University participation in all Govt initiatives whether it be the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Skill India Mission or the NEP 2020. In her concluding remarks the RD congratulated the participating students, wishing them well for their future endeavours. The Guest of Honour Prof Akhilesh Pandeyji congratulated all students, emphasized the importance of hard work and called upon them to think differently if they have to achieve better and differently. He emphasized the importance of life values for successfully carrying through the challenges of life. He discussed the educational vision and the rich & proud history and culture of the country which we need to preserve. He also touched upon the aspects of ecosystem balance, food security and peace/ happiness index. He closed with a Kabir quote, “कबीरा जब हम पैदा हुए, जग हँसे हम रोये, ऐसी करनी कर चलो, हम हँसे जग रोये”, to motivate the students.
