However, sometimes you may want these dates to behave as text. In such cases, you need to know how to convert the date to text.

In this tutorial, you’ll learn three ways to convert date to text in Excel:

1. Using the Text Function
2. Using the Text to Column feature
3. Using Copy Paste method

TEXT function: Text function is best used when you want to display a value in a specific format. In this case, it would be to display the date (which is a number) in the date format.

TEXT to COLUMN: If you’re not a fan for Excel formulas, there is another cool way to quickly convert date to text in Excel – the Text to Column feature. You can folow the steps in the video to use the 3 steps wizard to convert date to text.

COPY PASTE: In this method, you can simply copy the dates in notepad, format the cells in Excel to text format and copy the text from notepad back to Excel.
