In June 2024, Corra's Children, Young People and Families Early Intervention Fund, Adult Learning and Empowering Communities, and Children, Young People, Families and Adult Learning Third Sector Fund Team, organised a workshop covering the different types of commissioning and tips to identifying and beginning to build reciprocal relationships with public sector organisations.

The workshop was delivered by Karen McNeill, Freelance Learning Partner at Phronesis Partnership. Karen has recently worked as a Fund Manager within the Autism Portfolio in Inspiring Scotland and before that spent over 20 years in various roles in the public sector. Immediately before joining Inspiring Scotland she was an Improvement Advisor in Healthcare Improvement Scotland in the Collaborative Commissioning Team supporting public sector teams to commission in a more collaborative, community-informed way which focuses on learning and incorporates Scottish Government’s ethical commissioning principles. Karen was also the cofounder of a SCIO so has experience of trying to navigate public sector commissioning from the other perspective.
