The fight against glioblastoma

Описание к видео The fight against glioblastoma

Glioblastoma is the deadliest and most aggressive primary brain tumor in adults. It can also occur in the spinal cord. Although considered rare, approximately 12,000 new cases are diagnosed each year. The prognosis is often poor, with patients often given only a year or less to live. Researchers are working to find a cure and ways to slow progression of the disease while maintaining a person's quality of life.

Now, studies at Mayo Clinic are showing promise in the fight against glioblastoma by helping more accurately target the cancer cells with treatment and giving some patients, like Richard Casper, the precious gift of time.
