It’s hard to get lucky.  That is true.  So true in fact that today our goal is to prove to you why this statement is true.   Have you ever truly thought about why lucky is hard to get?  Would you believe people actually work really hard to get lucky? To play it safe means to go down the path that everyone else is going down.  Its been done before and people still use that road today.  People take that rode today just as they took it yesterday.  Every once in a while someone gets lucky.  Do you want some luck? Try being bold for once. People create their own luck.  They do this by being bold and taking risks.   Do you want to have even more luck?  Then take the time and effort to work on the craft of being bold. People put in extreme hours of practice to help create their own luck. What about when people are just in the right place at the right time?  We say that they created that place or they recognized the opportunity and they seized that opportunity.   We must always be on our toes and ready to move on an idea in an instant. Being ready to move on an idea in an instance means you must be prepared.  Preparation is key when creating luck.  Being prepared and having an attitude of openness, an openness to meet strangers and hear crazy ideas even when they seem impossible.  Sometimes it takes great courage to put ourselves into a position of luck.  Think about when you have people telling you to do this and not do that.  Most people will listen to their closest friends but some will go against the grain, against the crowd and do what they truly believe in.  Sometimes this works out sometimes it doesn’t but in the end you learn something from it either way. We believe that you can work hard to greatly increase your luck.  Its takes preparation, and it takes opportunity.  You put enough hours into preparation and then the perfect opportunity arrises and helps create your so called luck! 4 ways to help create luck on your side: Open oneself to new opportunities and seize them Listen to your gut Find a positive in each situation and expect it to be the outcome Be grateful, when you become grateful for what you have, you realize how lucky you truly are. Luck is all about our perception of the world around us. This puts the ten-thousand-hour rule in a completely different light: The reason that you must put in ten thousand or more hours of practice to become one of the world’s best violinists or chess players or golfers is that the people you are being compared to or competing with have themselves put in ten thousand or more hours of practice. There is no point at which performance maxes out and additional practice does not lead to further improvement. So, yes, if you wish to become one of the best in the world in one of these highly competitive fields, you will need to put in thousands and thousands of hours of hard, focused work just to have a chance of equaling all of those others who have chosen to put in the same sort of work At the end of the day, we all have something that someone else wishes they had
