Guzzlord has visited Pokemon GO world after Giratina return to its own dimension again.

Guzzlord is a Dragon/Dark type Pokemon, which is weak to Bug/Ice/Fighting/Dragon type and double weak to Fairy-type moves. As a raid boss, Guzzlord has only 90 defense, which is one of the lowest in the raid tier. The low defense coupled with double weakness allows it to be solo'd pretty comforably.

Even though Fairy-type is usually regarded as weak offensive type due to its role is highly overlapped with Dragon-type, while the latter consists of Pokemon with extremely high stats; They are still the best counters against Guzzlord due to the double weakness. In fact, even Pokemon without STAB are still more desirable to Pokemon not having Fairy-type moves.

Shadow Gardevoir and Shadow Granbull are the best counters against Guzzlord, while non-shadow variant of them are also a very viable choice. The Galarian forms, Galarian Rapidash and even Galarian Weezing can also deal with Guzzlord effectively.

For those who have participated in GBL, the ML Fairy-type, the classic battlers, Shadow Gardevoir and Togekiss, as well as Zacian, Tapu Bulu, Florges, Sylveon and Primarina are all capable to defeat Guzzlord in solo raid if given raid oriented moveset. Even for those who don't participate in ML, UL Alolan-Ninetales and even Clefable can also put up a good fight against Guzzlord if given proper moves.

In the other hand, the non Fairy-type, Xurkitree, Mega Alakazam, Shadow Ursaring, Beartic and Donphan can also work well against Guzzlord if they are given Fairy-type moves.

This solo raid is completed under no weather boost fashion with these restriction on team building:

1. Powering up Pokemons are not allowed, Shadow Pokemon are capped to Lv13/15 and Legendary are up to Lv25 due to this restriction. Effectively removing them from team building due to being underleveled compared to other choices.

2. No repeat species on the team, which means this is a 6 unique species Solo Raid.

3. Only Pokemon encountered in Season of Light are allowed.

4. Mega evolved Pokemons are not allowed.

This restriction shows how trivial it is to build a team that can work decently in raid, even though if they are regarded as suboptimal choices in general. Since powering up Pokemon is not allowed, Pokemon levels are also priortized over their IVs. IVs gives less impact to the overall Combat Power compared to level in general.
