Happy birthday Naga!! I can't believe it's now been a year since we met. The adventures of Nagalie and Lumi is a story I will never forget, and hopefully one that will continue on into the future both in canon and in real life. Thank you for being the most amazing, generous, creative, inspirational, and warmhearted person I could ever have the honor of meeting. Now here’s the long ass lore of the animation (sorry it’s a lot):
Nagalie travels around to different places as a storyteller. Her method of storytelling lies with her supernatural power; channeling energy. With that energy, she uses it to create images with sand and dust to tell those stories. One day, Naga goes to the revered kingdom of Anura, a monarchy inhabited by frog-like people. The Kingdom is ruled with an iron fist by Merlyn, who is their strict, power-hungry leader. Next in line to the throne is Lumi, his sister, and the princess of Anura. Today is the Water Festival, an annual festival where merchants can open up shops and people can watch cultural performances. However, it is set up with very hard rules, as merchants can only sell certain things (thus causing shortages of money) just as the dancers have to dance a certain way. When Naga arrives, she’s quick to find that not everyone in Anura is the kindest to visitors, due to the hard rules imposed by their King. But she soon learns that not everyone views this; three young polliwogs take an interest in Naga’s power.
In the King’s Temple, not far from Naga, Princess Lumi prepares to walk down the kingdom village with Merlyn to observe the festival and make sure everyone is following the rules. Princess Lumi is an activist and a scientist, a young Anuran who defies the rules that her brother sets. Lumi breaks away from her place when she sees the crowd of dancers, but bumps into Naga accidentally while running. Physical contact with someone in the monarchy is considered a highly punishable action. But Lumi, wanting to defy her brother, offers to dance with Naga, who bravely accepts.

After the festival, Nagalie revealed that one of Lumi's suitors was a spy sent to kill the King. Merlyn appointed her to become Lumi's personal knight, but only so he could use Naga as blackmail against her own people. Naga eventually flees Anura as Merlyn sends his own guards out against her for trying to protect Lumi from being forced to marry a Prince from another kingdom against her will. As Naga returns to telling stories, Lumi stays behind in Anura to try and fight against her brother’s reign. They lead very separate lives until one day, they somehow meet again in another dimension where their memories are wiped; the Artist SMP.
