Plot Summary:

A folk singer, Devu (Vijay) mistakes admiration for love from the village headman’s daughter Sevanti (Ramya). Obsessed with the idea of living with her forever, he prevents her marriage by tying the taali on the sly. Deeply humiliated, Sevanti desires nothing but killing the person who destroyed her happiness and honour. Deterred by the development, Devu nevertheless remains friends with her. Sevanti accidentally discovers who her ‘husband’ is.
