Backhand Slow Motion Form FPO + MPO | Music City Open 2024 • Hole 17

This one is for the form nerds out there…A compilation of FPO and MPO pro disc golfers at the Music City Open 2024 in Nashville, TN. Hole 17 is featured because it was the hole with the best view of the tee box where bystanders are allowed and features a roughly 325ft-400ft shot for FPO and 425ft-500ft shot for MPO, largely depending on if you're trying to get into the gap, so it is a rip. Some considerations to note are these throws were into a consistent stiff headwind every day, so if anything most people were throwing some form of stable disc on a fairly steep hyzer. While much less uphill for FPO, the MPO are throwing up a decent slope to a blind landing zone, so there will be a bit more leaning back / high launch angles, etc. Yes I would have loved a perfectly flat bomber hole like 15, but spectators aren't really allowed to go right next to the tee. The results of the shot are not known for a vast majority of throws, so while there are some slips, OBs and less ideal results, I think the form demonstrated holds up across the field.

I made this video as a study of Pro Disc Golf form. There's a lot of talk online about what is correct form, what is required to throw far etc. I made this with the intent to capture as many people as I could from the same position, on the same shot in the hopes to be able to see both the uniqueness certain people do in their form to show what may be something excusable, but also the things that are the same to get towards something near objectivity about what is proper form. I wasn't there for every card, and wasn't able to get out early enough to capture as much of the FPO as I would have liked to, however this does include a majority of the MPO field and is predominantly recorded on Day 2.
