This 82 year old client called us because his wife slipped on her saltillo tile stair entryway and BROKE HER HIP!

Slippery saltillo tiles outside is a problem that you MUST solve because we hear these complaints a lot.

Saltillo tiles are beautiful tiles that accompany many Spanish style homes, but the saltillo tile installers rarely know how to really maintain these precious soft clay bodied terracotta tiles.

Improper sealing and maintenance lead to issues that can only be solved through saltillo tile restoration and refinishing.

If someone made the crucial mistake of putting shiny topical coating sealers on your outdoor terracotta tiles then you MUST get those saltillo tiles STRIPPED and remove all of that shiny coating IMMEDIATELY.

Failure to do so can cause many problems such as failing sealer turning white, flaking off, deteriorating saltillo tiles, water marks and efflorescence, moisture issues, algae and mold growing on and through your tiles and grout.

The correct solution is to use a sealer that is meant for outdoors such as a penetrating sealer which will leave the tiles looking natural but still seal them from the inside out and make water and liquids bead up on the tile like glass for easy cleanup.

If you need to get your saltillo tiles, tecate pavers, or any other terracotta tile that is sealed refinished, then call California Tile Restoration and get those slippery tiles repaired before its too late.
