'SC, ST, OBC Posts Will Be Handed Over to RSS' | Kharge Criticizes Lateral Entry Provisions | NewsX

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has criticized the Modi government’s lateral entry scheme, calling it an attack on the Constitution. He provided several reasons for his stance, alleging that instead of filling government positions, BJP has eliminated 5.1 lakh jobs over the past decade by selling off government shares in PSUs. Casual and contract recruitments have surged by 91%, and SC, ST, and OBC posts have been reduced by 1.3 lakh by 2022-23, according to Siddaramaiah. Kharge noted that while Congress introduced lateral entry for placing experts in specific sectors, the Modi government is using it to undermine the rights of Dalits, tribals, and backward classes. He further claimed that SC, ST, OBC, and EWS posts will now be allocated to RSS members, describing it as the BJP's strategy to alter the Constitution by removing reservation benefits.
